Game of Thrones season 8 fans furious over Tyrion ‘virgin shaming’ Brienne in episode 4

Game of Thrones followers are criticising a scene involving Brienne of Tarth within the newest episode of the HBO sequence.

Many weren’t impressed after feeling just like the character, performed by Gwendoline Christie, was shamed for being a virgin by Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage)

The scene in query arrived throughout a drunken feast following the Battle of Winterfell. Gathered round a desk guzzling wine, Tyrion and the newly knighted Brienne play a sport of fact with Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Podrick (Daniel Portman).

One second sees Tyrion ask Brienne if she’s a virgin to which she stands and leaves. Jaime, sensing Brienne’s awkardness, follows her to her chambers and, a number of scenes later, the pair have intercourse.

Some followers have accused showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss’s writing of “hitting new lows”.

The most recent episode of the present’s last season noticed Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) suffers some devastating losses after arriving in King’s Touchdown to face Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).

The ultimate season of Game of Thrones continues every Sunday.  Our in depth rating of each episode within the sequence – from worst to finest – is under.

The present shall be accessible on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
