A 101 years old German A woman on Tuesday fled her senior’s home for violating the national lock to visit her daughter on her birthday, authorities said.
The woman had escaped through the emergency exit of the house, located in Brunswick, about 140 miles west of Berlin, AFP reported.
The woman called Police after getting lost while searching for her daughter’s suburban home, the report said. He reportedly told officers that he lives with his daughter – even though officers suspected otherwise.
The officers took the woman to her daughter’s home, who explained that her mother had just moved to the senior center and “missed her very much.”
The officers allowed the woman to see her daughter – through the patrol car window – before taking her back to the senior’s house.
Germany, like other countries, has been locked in to reduce the spread of the new corona virus. Public gatherings of more than two people have been banned.
Older people, who are among the most vulnerable to contracting the virus, have been closely monitored.
On Tuesday, Germany had recorded more than 106,700 cases with at least 1,942 deaths, according to the latest data from John Hopkins University.
