More than 130 were arrested after protests against coronavirus restrictions in Germany | Instant News

Police in Germany said dozens of people were arrested after protesting against pandemic restrictions after several demonstrations turned violent on Saturday.

Berlin police said 86 people were arrested after bottles were thrown at officers during a demonstration at Alexanderplatz, a large square in the former East Berlin.

One officer was injured, and another was injured in a separate incident in front of the Reichstag building where 45 people were detained.

In the western city of Dortmund, police said a man attacked a TV crew during a third protest in Germany in the past two weeks. A 23 year old individual was arrested.

Police in nearby Cologne expressed anger that some protesters in the city urged shoppers to take off their masks when entering the shop.

“It seems like these people still don’t understand that this is not just about their health but also the lives of others,” the Cologne police chief said.

Despite the gradual easing of the German pandemic restrictions in recent weeks, protests against them have swelled, uniting right-wing groups, celebrity C-lists, and people who believe the virus is harmless or part of a global conspiracy.

Vegan influenza Attila Hildmann and musician Xavier Naidoo are two of the many who have spread conspiracy theories in Germany.

Hildmann has written in his book Facebook page that Germany would soon leave democracy and that the secret forces would install a “new world order.” He also involved Bill Gates in his theory. Hildmann said he would soon go “underground.”

Meanwhile, Xavier Naidoo, who had previously been widely criticized for racist social media posts, had expressed doubts about the existence of the corona virus, demanding evidence for that. The video has been uploaded to “Xavier Naidoo (offiziell) “ Telegram Group and shows the musician talking to the camera in his car.
