DORMONT, Pa. (KDKA) – With a $ 25,000 offer on the table to help Dormont Pools be opened for the coming season, the Dormont Council stands by their previous decision to keep the pool closed for 2020 amid a Coronavirus pandemic.
According to the KDKA news partner at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the council made the decision to do so on Monday night.
Last week, Friends of Dormont Pool announced it would be willing to make a $ 25,000 contribution if that meant the pool would be open.
May 6th, the council voted unanimously that the pool would not be open for the season because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Council President Jeff Fabus told the Post-Gazette that if the donations were based on opening a pool this summer, “we cannot accept money on these terms.”
