A 29-year-old woman suffering from a deadly disease died Sunday in Jerusalem due to complications from COVID-19, making her the youngest person to die of the corona virus in Israel.
The young woman was in a coma and had used a ventilator at Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Kerem since contracting the disease. Hospitals remain in full contact with their families because they cannot visit him in hospitals because of the infectious nature of the virus.
The Health Ministry said on Sunday that the number of deaths from the Israeli corona virus had reached 172, increasing 14 in 24 hours.
The latest victims of the disease also include a 71-year-old man, who died Sunday morning at the Poriya Medical Center in Tiberias. The hospital said the patient suffered from several health problems.
He was hospitalized on April 15 from the nursing home Nof Tiberias and is the second resident of the facility to give up on coronavirus. Six of the residents have been taken to a hospital in Tel Aviv for further treatment,
Poriya also said that an 85-year-old woman from Afula gave up on the virus in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Laniado Hospital in Netanya said one of his patients, a 96-year-old man who had been transferred from the Dorot Geriatric Center in the city, also died overnight.
In the northern community of Yavniel, the nursing home Yokra also announced that two of its inhabitants died from the virus overnight, bringing the total number of deaths to COVID-19.
So far, 64 people from 14 nursing homes and sheltered housing complexes have died in Israel due to the corona virus.
At Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Kerem, a 76-year-old patient who suffered from an underlying disease died on Sunday at the hospital’s special coronavirus ICU with his family by his side.
The hospital also said Sunday that two patients who had been sedated and used ventilators had taken respiratory assistance when their condition was stable.
The number of coronavirus patients on ventilators in hospitals across the country has also decreased.
Statistics show that there was a decrease in 9 ventilated patients compared to Saturday’s number – the lowest number in almost two weeks.
As of Sunday morning, the number of people in Israel infected with the virus reached 13,362, with 156 patients in serious conditions, of whom 109 needed respiratory assistance. The number of people recovering from this disease has risen to 3,564.
There has been an 11th decrease in the number of patients in serious condition and while there is a 1.95% increase in positive diagnoses compared to Saturday, the number of patients recovering is now greater than the number newly diagnosed.
