Experts believe that coronavirus poses a low threat to children.

But concerns have risen after doctors have reported features of Kawasaki disease seen in children who have tested positive for Covid-19.

Kawasaki disease is an inflammatory syndrome that sees the body attack blood vessels, and symptoms include fever, rash, red eye and inflammation of the heart.

Dr Sanjay Patel, a pediatric infectious disease specialist and immunology specialist at Southampton University Hospital, stressed that these features have been found in several cases in the UK and convinced parents not to worry.
