Orange County reports no new deaths and 133 new cases on May 25 – Orange County Register | Instant News


On this Remembrance Day, Orange County reported no new deaths associated with COVID-19, with a total of 131 deaths left.

However, 133 new cases were reported.

The county report showed 5,469 people tested positive for the virus since testing began in March.

Of the 5,469 confirmed cases, 574 are residents in skilled care facilities and 365 are prisoners of Orange County Prison.

With 24 out of 25 hospitals reporting, there are 198 people in Orange County being hospitalized and 69 in the intensive care unit.

The Monday report noted 834 other tests carried out on the last day bringing the total cumulative testing to 102,513 in an area of ​​3.2 million people. The testing rate has risen to 320 tests per 10,000 residents of Orange County.

The case rate for Orange County is 17 cases per 10,000 population. Up from 16 per 10,000 residents on Sunday.

  • 65-74: 18% (24)
  • 55-64: 12% (16)
  • 45-54: 8% (11)

  • 0-17: 0%

About 75% of deaths are people who are over 65 years old.
