LAHORE: Expressing annoyance over rising incidents of deaths in police custody, Inspector Common of Punjab Police Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan on Friday warned of strict, swift, authorized and departmental motion towards these liable for such incidents, ARY Information reported.
In his letter to the sector officers, the IG Punjab mentioned that that they had adopted a zero tolerance coverage towards custodial deaths. He directed the sector officers to strictly observe the SOPs wile discharging their official obligations.
The IG directed the law enforcement officials to restrain from torturing suspects in custody and unlawful detentions.

Earlier on September 3, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had taken discover of latest deaths of suspects in police custody and had ordered strict motion towards these liable for such incidents.
