Seventy-five more COVID-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours in Italy, bringing the country’s toll to 33,415, out of a total of 233,019 infection cases, according to new figures. Across the country, the number of active infections fell by 1,616 to 42,075, the Civil Protection Department said Sunday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Among those who tested positive for the new corona virus, 435 were in intensive care, 15 fewer compared to Saturday, and 6,387 were hospitalized with symptoms, down by 293 patients from the previous day.
The remaining 35,253 people, or around 84 percent of those who tested positive, were quarantined at home without symptoms or only mild symptoms.
Recovery rose to 1,874 compared to Saturday, bringing the national total to 157,507.
