NAB chief reiterates resolve to root out corruption

ISLAMABAD: Nationwide Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal Thursday stated the bureau was placing in all its assets to arrest proclaimed offenders, absconders and corrupt parts on foundation of stable proof.

Chairing a gathering to evaluate the general efficiency of regional bureaus, he directed the officers to get rid of mega corruption instances on a precedence foundation, moreover transferring low magnitude ones to different anti-corruption departments so that each one are disposed of inside the prescribed timeframe of ten months.

“Eradication of corruption is our religion and NAB is decided on this regard.”

He stated the bureau didn’t consider in vengeance, including that complainants needs to be handled respectfully.

“NAB has devised an efficient operational mechanism to conduct criticism verification, investigations and inquiries by utilising collective knowledge of senior supervisory employees,” he stated and maintained that nobody may dare to affect investigations anymore.

Earlier, the assembly was knowledgeable that the bureau has apprehended 503 corruption accused inside the previous 12 months whereas complaints have been registered in opposition to 44,315 individuals, out of which 1,713 have been verified, inquiries have been initiated in opposition to 877 individuals, investigations have been performed in opposition to 227  individuals and 440 corruption references have been filed in several accountability courts.

NAB has deposited a file Rs2.580 billion within the nationwide exchequer after recovering it from the corrupt, officers advised the assembly.
