The West Indies and Pakistan will tour New Zealand later this year when cricket resumes in the country. New Zealand cricket will endeavor to ensure all necessary precautions, given that large squads from Pakistan and the West Indies will be traveling to the country. The cricket board plans to launch preparations in advance to address the logistical challenges that may come with the COVID-19 situation. The bio-safe environment for the players is also on the cards.
New Zealand Sports Minister Grant Robertson told: Goods that they are most likely to incur $ NZD 7000 ($ USD 4,575) per person for the 14-day mandatory quarantine period in the country. The tour schedule will be announced on Tuesday after the government grants New Zealand Cricket permission to continue. The press conference is scheduled to announce the International schedule for the summer and also for the Super Smash competition.
New Zealand Criicket may pay NZD $ 2 million (USD $ 1.3 million) to quarantine the players ahead of their draw. Despite the additional costs, David White, CEO of New Zealand cricket, believes the benefits of the tour will be more significant when compared to the total costs incurred. The board is also optimistic about possible spectators during the match.
Players train at Lincoln
Players during the tour will train at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Center in Lincoln. The council plans to adopt a Managed Isolation Quarantine for all personnel. White confirmed that New Zealand Cricket is aware of additional fees for quarantine and sanitation facilities, along with travel and accommodation.
Dream11 IPL 2020-bound Black Caps players such as Jimmy Neesham, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and captain Kane Williamson, who will return to the country in November following the completion of the Dream11 IPL 2020, will also be subject to these norms. The players will begin their preparations for the New Zealand Cricket summer after completing their Dream11 IPL 2020 assignments. The board has also made it clear that isolated players will be treated as if they have the COVID-19 virus to ensure there is no lull after the start of the tour.
Kane Williamson represents the Hyderabad team at the Dream11 IPL 2020 and has not featured in 11 games this season. While Trent Boult is impressed by his new tight-ball bowling game for Mumbai, the all-around Jimmy Neesham will also look to make an impact on his return to the money-rich league. Jimmy Neesham will serve the Punjab side at Dream11 IPL 2020.
