Four Solomon Islands nationals who returned to the Pacific Island nation on a repatriation flight from New Zealand tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports from local media.

That Solomon Times Report Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare confirmed the case, saying that the quartet were UK-based footballers, Solomon Times reported.

They sat together on a flight from Auckland as part of a group of 16 players returning from Europe.

All four are in isolation.

Sogavare said one of the positive cases refused to wear a face mask on a flight from New Zealand despite being repeatedly told by flight crew to do so.
