ISLAMABAD: Opening Pakistan Fakhar era will skip the New Zealand tour.
Team doctor Sohail Saleem said Zaman had tested negative corona virus on Saturday, but left-handed dough had a fever the next day.
“The decision to withdraw Zaman from the tour was made with the health of the rest of the squad as a top priority,” Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement on Sunday.
Zaman, 30, was isolated from the rest of the Pakistan squad at the team hotel and declared unfit to travel with his team-mates.
A regular for Pakistan in white ball cricket, Zaman has played 47 ODI games – with an average of 45 runs and a high score of 210 out – and 40 Twenty20 games.
Pakistan will leave for New Zealand Monday morning to play three Twenty20s and two trial matches. The tour kicks off with the first T20 at the Auckland Eden Gardens on 18 December.
