April 7 (UPI) – New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern took a moment at a media conference about the country’s response to COVID-19 pandemic to convince children that the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are considered “important workers”.
Arden said during Monday’s media briefing that mythical figures are considered important workers in New Zealand, which have been locked up for the past two weeks as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“You will be pleased to know that we consider the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny to be important workers,” Ardern said.
“But as you can imagine at this time they will potentially be quite busy at home with their families and their own rabbits, and I say to the children of New Zealand: If the Easter Rabbit does not work for your household, we must understand it is rather difficult when it’s for rabbits to go everywhere, “he said.
Ardern suggested residents could help children experience Easter egg hunting by putting photos of colorful eggs in their front windows for the children of neighbors to see. He posted a coloring page for Easter eggs its Facebook page for occupant use.
