The Royal New Zealand Ballet national tour currently on ‘Tutus on Tour’ is impacted by the latest Covid-19 community outbreak in Auckland and changing levels of vigilance across the country.
The company has postponed ‘Tutus on Tour’ shows in Tauranga, New Plymouth, Whanganui, Hastings, Gisborne and Nelson this week.
‘Tutus on Tour’ is scheduled for two shows at Baycourt on Saturday, March 6.
The RNZB hopes to reschedule some, if not all, of the affected shows through the second half of March, subject to venue availability.
At this stage, the second week of the tour will go according to plan considering the RNZB can only perform if the theater city or town is at standby level 1.
Executive director Lester McGrath said, “The continued good health of the RNZB audience, artists and staff is our priority and we hope, with optimism, to return to theaters around Aotearoa soon.
“Rest assured that when the show is allowed to resume, we work closely with our venue partners to provide a high standard of customer service.”
