New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern assured her nation’s children that the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy were regarded as important workers during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a press conference on Monday, Ardern told reporters, “You will be pleased to know that we consider the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny to be important workers.” Ardern goes on to say children must try and understand if magical creatures do not reach every home, because they may be busy with their own families “and their own rabbits.”

Ardern offers advice to children and their families to help the Easter Rabbit with its spin. Smiling, he tells the children, “You can make Easter hunts for all the children in your neighborhood.” He recommends that residents of the house have placed a teddy bear in a front-facing window to “maybe draw an Easter egg and put it in your front window.”
New Zealand has been under strict restrictions on living at home since 25 March. According to Johns Hopkins University, per CNN, the country has only one confirmed death and 1,106 confirmed cases of the corona virus on Monday.
