ISLAMABAD: The Nationwide Meeting did not take up the scheduled 16-point agenda on Friday as a result of an absence of quorum.
In the meantime, the no-confidence transfer of the opposition and sudden win of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani was being mentioned in closed-door conferences and the corridors of parliament. A listing of 14 senators belonging to opposition events was doing the rounds on social media, who had been mentioned to have voted in favour of the federal government’s candidate (Mr Sanjrani).
Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, who was presiding the session of the Nationwide Meeting, ordered a half-hour break because of the low attendance. Nevertheless, when the session resumed at midday, solely 66 members had been current compelling the deputy speaker to adjourn the home until Monday night.
