Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia review reforms agenda to make OIC more effective

JEDDAH: A trilateral assembly of Pakistan, Turkey and Malaysia has reviewed reforms agenda of Group of Islamic Cooperation and mentioned methods to make OIC simpler group.

The trilateral talks have been held on the sidelines of the continued assembly of the OIC Council of Overseas Ministers in Jeddah on Thursday.

Overseas Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi represented Pakistan whereas the Turkish and Malaysian Overseas Ministers led their respective sides.

Talking on the event, Shah Mahmood Qureshi mentioned Pakistan desires OIC to be acknowledged as a proactive and efficient group that may get its legal guidelines enforced.

He mentioned Pakistan is in favor of actual reforms in OIC, which ought to be ready preserving in view rules and rules, transparency and benefit. On this regard, he mentioned, Pakistan absolutely helps the OIC Secretary Common.

The Overseas Minister mentioned the monitoring system in OIC ought to be made efficient in order that no nation deviates from the rules and rules.

He mentioned OIC ought to emerge as an actual consultant group for decision of the problems being confronted by the Muslim Ummah.

The Overseas Ministers of Turkey and Malaysia appreciated the perspective of Pakistan. The three sides determined to proceed their consultations on this regard.
