Karachi – Two more members of the Sindh Assembly owned by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shahnawaz Jadoon and Muhammad Shabbir Qureshi have tested positive using Covid-19.
A new session of the Assembly is scheduled to be held on June 3 on opposition requests and according to standard operating procedures, all members must go through coronavirus checks and only those who test negative will be allowed to attend the meeting.
So far around 50 members have passed the Covid-19 test in which 12 MPs are said to be positive. Jadoon and Qureshi who were both chosen from Karachi went into exile.
The two PTI MPAs who were the latest victims of the corona virus were reported to have attended the Eid Al-Fitr Party organized by their colleague Malik Shehzad Awan. The leadership of the PTI parliament in the Sindh Haleem Adil Sheikh Assembly, several MNAs and MPAs also attended the party.
Earlier, Pakistan’s MPA Muttahida Qaumi Movement Ali Khursheedi, Sajid Jokhio, Pakistan People’s Party, Noor Ahmed Burghri, Sadia Javed and Human Settlement Minister Ghulam Murtaza Baloch have also been diagnosed with a fatal virus.
In addition, Education Minister Saeed Ghani, and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal a single MPA in Sindh Syed Abdul Rasheed have recovered from Covid-19.
Grand Democratic Alliance member Muhammad Rashid Shah initially tested positive at Pir-jo-goth, but then tested negative in a private laboratory.
