The NAB team left the Shehbaz Sharif residence in Lahore after learning that he was not there – Pakistan | Instant News

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials left the residence of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in Model City Lahore to learn that he was not present there.

Previously, NAB officials and police had gathered outside Shehbaz’s residence in Model Town after he had passed a hearing with an anti-corruption watchdog related to cases involving money laundering and asset ownership outside known sources of income.

Live footage on TV shows PML-N workers gathered outside Shehbaz’s home, protesting loudly. The footage also shows police officers with riot gear stopping people and media personnel approaching the residence and barricades mounted along the perimeter.

According to media reports, NAB is on its way to the residence of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Jati Umra. However, NAV or PML-N have not confirmed this.

Earlier today, Shehbaz should have appeared before NAB but had forgiven himself for appearing a third time, citing health problems.

In a statement delivered to the bureau, he said: “It has been widely reported in the media that some NAB officials have tested positive for using Covid-19.

“Please appreciate [that] I am a cancer sufferer and 69 years old. “I have been advised that exposure is limited because of a strange background of low immunity,” he said.

He added that he was available to answer any questions by the investigation team via Skype.

‘This is a witch hunt’

PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb criticized the government and anti-corruption watchdog.

Speak to DawnNewsTV, he said: “Nobody criticized Imran Khan, nobody arrested Buzdar. This circus was done to divert attention [the people from] corruption and theft, to fool the people of Pakistan. That does not make a difference to PML-N.

“NAB-Niazi nexus is being used. This is a response to the corona, this is a response to the Rs3 billion sugar looted from people. This circus is played because they don’t have the courage to call Imran Khan or to arrest him and Buzdar,” he said.

He added that the party would continue to speak out against the government “inefficiently, not eligible”.

Meanwhile, talk with Geo News PML-N Malik Ahmed called the move by the NAB a “witch hunt”.

“NAB officials need to understand that we issue our statements based on doctor’s advice. And we never say no to answer any questions.”

He stated that the move was politically motivated, stating: “Carrying out attacks like this during a pandemic, that too after medical advice […] politically their reasons are clear. They will not [Shehbaz] to attend budget sessions because they are afraid of the truth. “

On the other hand, Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that today Shehbaz has proven that he is not a leader but a shocked.

Speak to Geo News, he said: “He bragged when he returned from London that he was here to fight the corona virus […] international protocol only 14 days [in quarantine] not 1,400 days. “

He added that Shehbaz should have appeared before NAB when he was summoned. “When there was a case about the prime minister, he gave documents and the court gave him a certificate Sadiq and Amen. But [Shehbaz] knew he could not do that because he was guilty of the worst kind of corruption. “

Previous call by NAB

On May 4, Shehbaz did it appear before CIT – unlike his response to a previous call – in which he stated that he could not join the investigation personally because of Covid-19 because he was a cancer survivor.

Responding to these questions, Sharif said all his assets had been declared and he had submitted relevant details to NAB. He has reiterated that he is not corrupt, and it is better to save billions of rupees in development projects when he is the chief minister of Punjab.

However, the NAB called the answer and notes sent by Shehbaz unsatisfactory and called him again on June 2 (today), asking him to come along with the information needed.

Shehbaz was granted guarantee by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in February last year in the Ashiyana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme and a reference to the Ramzan Sugar Factory filed by NAB against him. She has left for London in November along with PML-N supremo and his older brother Nawaz Sharif, who were allowed to travel abroad by the government and court to seek medical treatment.

After remaining in the UK for more than four months, the president of PML-N has it returned to Pakistan on March 22 on the advice of his brother, given the coronavirus pandemic and after the government’s decision to suspend international flights.
