Atiq Mir demands the opening of a wedding hall in Karachi| Instant News

KARACHI: All Karachi Chairmen Tajir Ittehad Atiq Mir on Wednesday said that around one million people had lost their jobs due to the closure of marriage halls in the city.

Atiq Mir said in a statement that a large number of people associated with businesses related to marriage halls were currently unemployed.

He urged government to allow the marriage hall to continue their business under standard operating procedures (SOP). “This will help people get their jobs back and win bread and butter for their families,” he added.

It can be noted that the Sindh government on Monday had subsided kuncitara imposed to curb the coronavirus pandemic, which allows businesses to resume activities five days a week and prohibits Saturdays and Sundays – from 6am to 7pm.

A notice issued by the Sindh Interior Ministry said: “Business time arrangements except pharmacies and essential services – Five days per week (Monday-Friday) from Morning to Maghreb (6:00 am to 7:00 pm).

The order has entered into force and will remain in effect until 30 June 2020.
