The petition in the SC Karachi Registry sought to disqualify PPP leaders| Instant News

KARACHI: A petition asking for the disqualification of the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been filed in the Karachi Supreme Court (SC) Registry, ARY News reported on Thursday.

The plaintiff in his defense stated that PPP leaders Imtiaz Shaikh and Saeed Ghani were reportedly related to drug traffickers and evidence in this context had been filed in court.

The petition further stated that the SC had previously disqualified the former prime minister in the Panamanian leak case. He appealed to the court to disqualify Shaikh and Ghani and transfer the disqualification case to the Supreme Court.

It can be noted that, Shikarpur SSP Muhammad Rizwan Khan in his compliance report claimed that Saeed Ghani and his brother had facilitated drug traffickers in the Mehmoodabad area in Karachi.

He claimed Farhan Ghani, the minister’s brother, had helped the drug seller as a runaway drug dealer, Zaheer Ahmed, also work in his office.

In fact, Imtiaz Shaikh is suspected of using criminal connections to maintain his political position in Shikarpur. He also tried to influence the police through criminal elements.
