Islamabad: special assistant to Prime Minister on national security, Moeed Yusuf, has rejected the impression that Pakistan exports of the coronavirus to other countries and insisted that the country was working to “responsibly” to check the spread of the virus.
Briefing on the national team and technical operation (NCOC) in Islamabad on Thursday, Yusuf said that the news section applies to the British media about Pakistani immigrants returning to the United Kingdom Covid-19 symptoms, but this is not the position of the British government, as confirmed by British high Commissioner Christian Turner.
Yusuf added that Pakistan is the only country which carries out testing, quarantine and inspection on departure. Only 30 Pakistanis, who returned to the UK a positive result on Covid-19 and a section of the British media was exaggerating, he added.

However, he said that the screening of outbound passengers is mandatory. “We are keeping a close eye on incoming and outgoing passengers,” he added. Yousuf also said that Pakistan International airlines flight (Pia) in the Persian Gulf region will continue.
His comments came as the country saw 4,339 new cases and 78 deaths. Now a lot of cases are on the 217,809, while the death toll has reached 4,473, according to the government.
Meanwhile, the government rolled back the ideal of insulation from the two districts of Peshawar after completion of the required 14-day quarantine. However, districts were advised to take all precautions to prevent the spread of the disease.
