Lahore on Friday, the University of engineering and technology (uet) organised an installation ceremony of the 1mwp solar power plant.
Punjab Minister for energy Dr Muhammad Akhter Malik was the chief guest, who along with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar laid the Foundation of this project. Generating capacity 1mwp project and after the completion of this project the University will receive an annual benefit of Rs170 million.
After the ceremony, the energy Minister of Punjab said in the media and stressed the importance of solar power energy in the province. He said the project was the first major step towards a clean and green Pakistan. We will expand this project to all other universities in Punjab. He noted that several memorandums of understanding were signed in change 11 universities of Punjab to solar energy while the Punjab government has not spent a single rupee on these projects.
He said he was getting full support from chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for this project and they are making tireless efforts to provide affordable and clean energy, in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan vision.
Dr. Mansoor Sarwar thanked the Minister and said, clean and green energy has become the need of the whole world. Uet will save millions of rupees and spend them on research projects. The solar project will be completed by September 15, 2020.
