New infrastructure projects should be implemented under a public-private partnership: Punjab cm | Instant News

Lahore: chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar said Saturday that the new infrastructure projects in cities will be completed through a public-private partnership (PPP) and the government will take on international competition projects.

He presided over a meeting of the Council of public private Punjab authority partnerships (PPP) in the house cm, which were approved by the administrative and financial rules of the authority.

The decisions of the second meeting of the Council and the control was ratified at the meeting. He also reviewed the pace of development projects is conducted in cooperation with the private sector.

The chief Minister said that Punjab government has taken major steps towards sustainable sector development infrastructure of the region through the development of an economic development plan urban infrastructure.

The chief Minister instructed authorities concerned to get the maximum benefit from the opportunities of public-private partnerships for new development projects. He also instructed to expedite the preparation of feasibility study for wastewater treatment plants in Rawalpindi.

He said that the 62-kilometre Rawalpindi ring road will be completed in PPP mode in the amount of Rs61 billion. He pointed out that important issues should be addressed immediately.

Speaking about various projects in Lahore, he said that the provisions of the draft of clean drinking water in 20 pilot zones Lahore will be completed at a cost of Rs7.25 billion; 42 of the vehicle fitness test system will be established in Lahore at a price of RS.1.And the project material recovery of 5 billion Zero waste will be completed for the sum of RS.1.44 billion. He added that ten mega-projects in the Punjab would be implemented under a public-private partnership for the sum of RS.79 billion.
