Islamabad: Pakistan The Minister Of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi was transferred to a military hospital in Rawalpindi on Saturday, a day after he was tested positive for the coronavirus and left in isolation. Qureshi on Friday announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus, to join the long list of Pakistani legislators who contracted a deadly virus.

“I now have a positive result on Covid-19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry out their duties from home. Please keep me in your prayers” – he said on Twitter.

Qureshi was moved to Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi, geo news reported on Saturday, citing sources.

Two weeks ago Movement MMA Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and Federal Minister for information technology and telecommunications, Syed Amir Haq was positive for coronavirus, and one week earlier than PML-N press Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb said that she had a positive result.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf () MNA Jai Prakash, former Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi, Minister of state for counter-narcotics Shehryar Afridi and the main beach in the National Assembly Amir Dogar also diagnosed COVID-19.

In June, member of National Assembly (MNA) Munir Orakzai Khan died days after recovery from a coronavirus.

Eight members of the Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been infected with a coronavirus. Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser was also infected, but recovered.

Pakistan reported 3,387 new cases of infection with coronavirus and 68 deaths on Saturday, taking the total number of cases in the country 225,283. The death toll is 4,619, according to official figures on Saturday.
