LAHORE: Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jehangir Khan Tareen has denied contact with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
“Neither I have been contacted nor do I have the intention to contact the PML-N leadership; my loyalty is to the PTI and I support Imran Khan,” Tareen said when speaking to The News from England.
It’s worth noting that PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has claimed that there has been contact between Nawaz Sharif and Tareen. Both Nawaz and Tareen are in the UK for treatment purposes. However, Tareen denied such developments and said he had become a party loyalist and like other supporters; he contributed to bringing the party to a successful position. Fighting party lines is not possible.
It is important to mention here that there are differences between senior PTI leaders such as Asad Umar and Tareen on various issues. Sources said Tareen was unhappy with the way some senior party leaders, who were also members of the cabinet, and several prominent bureaucrats had been running government affairs which eventually lowered the PTI popularity chart quickly. However, when it comes to his loyalty to Imran, Tareen stressed that Imran was its leader and his commitment to the PTI was unquestionable.
