The commemoration of Kashmir Martyrs Day is celebrated annually on July 13 to mark the events of July 13, 1931

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to continue to support the struggle of the Kashmir people for their right to self-determination.

In a series of tweets on Monday in connection with Kashmir Martyr’s Day, he said Pakistan always stood firm for the right of self-determination and that the day was not far away when they would be freed from the clutches of illegal occupation of India.

The Prime Minister said we salute Kashmiris for their continued struggle against the illegal and barbaric occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the martyrs of July 13, 1931 were the ancestors of today’s Kashmir resistance. Their descendants, generation after generation, gave their lives for freedom and today they continue to struggle and challenge the Hindutva Supremacy regime which is determined to demographic engineering to eliminate the Kashmir people and their identity.

Kashmiri people who live on both sides of the Control Line and other parts of the world are celebrating Kashmir Martyr’s Day today (Monday) with a promise to continue their struggle for the achievement of their birthright to self-determination and freedom of Kashmir from the Indian Kuk.

The commemoration of Kashmir Martyrs Day is commemorated every year on July 13 to mark the July 13, 1931 incident, when 22 Kashmiris were martyred in their efforts to complete the call to prayer outside the Srinagar Central prison, by army ruler Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh.
