IHC resumes hearing of petition against the investigation of the CCP, issued a showcause notice to PPA | Instant News


High court of Islamabad on Wednesday (IH) resumed hearing of the petition from the Commission on competition issues of Pakistan request (CPC) and the show-cause warning the Pakistani poultry Association (PPA).

Request of the CPC in 2010 stated that the company, feed for poultry were involved in the unjustified increase in prices on day-old Chicks and poultry feed.

During today’s hearing, counsel for the applicants, Aitzaz Ahsan concluded his arguments by video link. The arguments of the attorney General of Pakistan will be presented on Friday.

Earlier, the head of IHC justice Athar Minallah ordered at the hearing on 30 June. He noted that the purpose of the visit in the case was submitted on 16 October 2010. The PAP has been given sufficient time to prepare arguments, while the means of video link has also been provided.

IH assumes that all respondents to submit written arguments. The attorney General of Pakistan to argue in court on behalf of the Federal government. The court hearing the case daily taking into account that in the past, several judges presided over it.

Twenty companies from Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan and Chakwal was filed in 2010 in relation to the feed for poultry.

They disputed the claim CCP on July 8, 2010, in the context of feed for poultry by their then lawyer Hafeezud-DIN Pirzada and show the results of the notification issued on 26 October and 28 October 2010.

The court was asked to void and to declare the companies of the competition act 2010, a resolution on the 2010 competition, the decision of the contest in 2009 and the decision of the competition in 2007, illegal.

The court was also prayed that all decisions and orders made against applicants on the basis of the law and regulations should be declared invalid and there should be no action in the context of the show-cause notice.

The request of the CCP, the investigation is being conducted in accordance with section 37 of the Act On the Commission in 2010 in light of the media, find poultry farms in violation of section 4 (1) of the order.

In some places the PPA in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad were closed on 24 and 25 may 2010, as part of the investigation.

The response was collected from poultry farm within 14 days. They were caused on November 23, 2010, but the Supreme court suspended the show cause notices and suspended production.
