Pakistan’s Meteorological Department said.

According to PMD data, Karachi had recorded a temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius on July 3, 1958.

Average temperature for July is 33.3 degrees Celsius in the last 30 years.

Department Director Met Sardar Sarfaraz said they did not expect temperatures to rise so far.

“Among other supporting factors, it is because of the extremely hot and dry wind coming from the Rann of Kutch,” he said.
