Prime Minister Imran Khan has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the people of Kashmir and their struggle for self-determination over Youm-i-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan.
“Today we commemorate the historic event of Youm-i-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan, when Kashmir issued a resolution for accession to Pakistan,” PM Imran tweeted on Sunday.
Prime Minister Imran, while reaffirming the country’s commitment to the Kashmiris, stressed that it was the right of the valley people to seek self-determination as recognized by the UN Security Council and based on international law.
“We will continue to fight for justice for Kashmiris as they fight against the brutal and illegal actions of the Indian government of Hindutva supremacy in India occupied by Jammu and Kashmir,” Prime Minister Imran said, ensuring that “justice will prevail.”
Kashmir on both sides of the Control Line and throughout the world is watching Youm-i-Ilhaq-e-Pakistan today with a new promise to continue the struggle for freedom from Indian occupation and the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.
On this day in 1947, representatives from Kashmir unanimously issued a resolution on Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan during the meeting of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in Srinagar.
