Pakistan Army rejects Indian ‘infiltration’ claims to occupied Kashmir, truce violations
RAWALPINDI: Pakistani troops on Tuesday firmly rejected India’s accusations that Islamabad was involved in a truce violation and deliberately “infiltrated people affected by COVID” in occupied Kashmir, saying they were “baseless” and “imagined”.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Director General of Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), General Babar Iftikhar referred to the interview of the Commander of 15 Indian Corps with the BBC and said: “India’s insination of infiltration and CFV by Pakistan is not only baseless but also explicitly – designed to divert global and domestic attention from an endless post of failure – 5 August 2019. “
India on August 5, 2019, canceled the special status of Kashmir under the constitution and placed Muslim-majority areas under a curfew which continues to this day. He also enforced communication and media outages in the Himalayan valley.
The military media wing also rejected India’s accusation that Pakistan “infiltrated people affected by COVID into IOJK”, saying that Islamabad always offered the United Nations Military Observation Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) unimpeded access to sites where ceasefire occurred .
“What is no less delusional is the accusation about Pakistan infiltrating individuals affected by COVID to IOJK. Pakistan has always expanded UNMOGIP access without barriers to CFV sites.
“We will continue to do that most transparently,” ISPR warned.
“The Indian leadership will be advised to focus on handling internal chaos, which was created not only by the mishandling of COVID-19 but also by the tragedies that have occurred at IOJK for years,” he added.
