Bomb resembling a toy on Tuesday injured at least five children in Northwest Pakistan in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, officials said.
The bomb exploded when the children were playing with him in southern area Waziristan.
Five children between the ages of six and 12 years old were injured in the incident, officials said, adding that the origin of the bombs was unclear.
Dozens of children, mostly in North-West Pakistan, killed in the past while playing with “toys”, which were explosive devices.
‘Toy’ bomb was threw in neighbouring Afghanistan by the Soviet troops during the Civil war of the 1980-ies in the country. South Waziristan is one of the areas where the Pakistani army has been fighting militants linked to the Taliban and al-Qaida for over a decade. PTI
