The government will take steps to eliminate Karachi’s difficulties: PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said the federal government would not leave the people of Karachi alone in difficult situations and would take all possible steps to resolve the difficulties faced by them.
He expressed this view during a meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail here. Science and Technology Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain was also present at the meeting. Governor Sindh briefly explained to the prime minister about the situation that occurred after the recent rains in Karachi.
The prime minister also directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to present detailed reports on the situation of rainwater nullahs in Karachi. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the steps taken by the current government for South Punjab were aimed at giving people representatives of the area and empowering them so that their problems could be resolved at their doorstep.
The prime minister expressed this view during a meeting with South Punjab’s MNA here. He also directed a constitutional committee led by Shah Mehmood Qureshi who would meet with the Chief Minister of Punjab and talk about matters relating to administrative matters.
