A new digital system has been launched by the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) to deal with issues related to land records throughout the province. As per the details, the name of the newly launched system is the File Movement Management System.
Nasir Hussain Shah – Provincial Minister for Local Government has inaugurated the Movement Movement Management System during the ceremony at the Civic Center, which is the headquarters for the Karachi Government and the office for the Mayor of Karachi.
The Director of the Restoration of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Raza Qaimkhani told the media that before the launch of this digital system, a file was first transferred to the Land Department of the KDA Information Technology Department manually. The file will then go to the Recovery and Records department and finally return to the Land Department to issue the final challan.
The whole process takes too much time because it’s done manually, he said.
According to the details, under the newly launched system, a file first came to the Land Department. The Information Technology Department stores the file electronically, after which it enters the central diary in the Recovery Department. After that, the file enters the Record Room for contribution verification, after which the digital system generates an automatic paycheck against it.
After that process, the file then goes to the Oversight Committee and an electronic receipt is made with a sticker containing the barcode. People who make applications can also get a quick response (QR) code through which they can get information about the status of the file at any time.
After the implementation of this system, applicants can get their files together with the final challan in seven working days, Qaimkhani added.
