I am a strong supporter of Imran Khan: Jehangir Tareen
LAHORE: Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Jehangir Khan Tareen has ruled out differences with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
“I am a strong supporter of Imran Khan and have no difference with him, the impression that I have developed differences with my party and meeting other party leaders is completely wrong,” Tareen said when speaking to The News on Wednesday.
The PTI leader, while refuting rumors of his meeting with opposition leaders in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, said his commitment was with Imran Khan and he had not yet met with leaders from the opposition.
It’s worth noting that recently, the names Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiyar echoed in the sugar scandal after which news relating to Tareen’s small differences with the PM began to surface. However, Tareen has so far refused to develop differences with Imran.
Sources revealed that most PTI leaders in Punjab seemed unhappy with the performance of their own party government led by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
Since day one, the PTI government in Punjab has been criticized for governance issues and the influence of the bureaucracy in the CM Secretariat because many ministers have expressed anxiety before the party leadership. Most senior PTI leaders in Punjab want a strong figure to call the gunfire in the province which could not only save the party from criticism of its government but also save it from division. Recently, Abdul Aleem Khan has taken oath as Minister of Food in Punjab after a pause of more than a year and the PTI view it as an important development.
