KARACHI: An eight year old boy was found dead in a fight, or gunny bag, last night here near the metropolis’ Shafiq Morr possibly raped, according to an initial autopsy carried out on Friday, according to police.
There was no sign of torture on the body, police said, adding that the bodies had been finished but the results remained. One suspect, identified as Samiullah, has been detained and named in the first information report (FIR) registered with the police, they added.
However, authorities have underlined that the chemical report will reveal the real cause of the child’s death.
Rescue sources confirmed last night that the body of an eight-year-old boy was found in a gunny sack near the Shafiq Colony neighborhood in New Karachi.
A sub-inspector (SI) who is a resident of the Shafiq Colony alerted authorities on 15 helplines, according to police.
Sources have informed Geo News at that time residents in the area saw a suspicious man carrying a gunny bag with him and stopped him to ask a question. After inspecting the sack, they found the body of a child and detained the man before handing him over to the police, the sources added.
The police also confirmed at the time that they had detained the suspect and interrogated him.
Speaking to Geo News, the boy’s uncle said the detained individual made contradictory statements after he was detained. The prisoner first said the child’s body was found in the river but later changed his statement by saying the body was found near several flats, he added.
The eight-year-old’s relative added that the boy had been missing since Thursday evening.
