No one is allowed to make a shortage of artificial wheat: Aleem Khan | Instant News


LAHORE: Punjab Food Minister Aleem Khan on Thursday warned profiteers and hoarders of decisive action and said that no one would be allowed to make wheat intelligence in the province, ARY News reported.

Noting the limitation of wheat supply from some districts in southern Punjab, Aleem Khan sought reports from the secretary’s food.

He also held a video link meeting with the relevant deputy commissioners, the minister explained that according to the Punjab Government policy, there was no limit to carrying and carrying wheat from every district in the province to other districts.

However, smuggling and shipping wheat out of the province will not be permitted, the minister said and added that all matters would be reconsidered under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special instructions.

Meanwhile, speaking with the delegation of the flour mill association who called him in Lahore, Aleem Khan urged them to voluntarily announce the reduction in flour prices during the holy month of Ramazan.

On that occasion, the minister said that the provincial government would not hold the Ramazan bazaar because of the coronavirus pandemic. He announced to increase 0.5 million tons more in the Punjab government wheat procurement target so that wheat stocks could be available in unexpected situations.

On that occasion, Aleem Khan assured that a new policy on transporting wheat from Punjab to other provinces would be followed and no province would not buy its own wheat in Punjab, however, the provincial government would provide wheat according to their needs, after obtaining wheat.
