The head of NAB visited the Lahore office, receiving briefings on mega corruption cases | Instant News


Head of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Judge Javed Iqbal paid a visit to the Lahore Regional Bureau on Thursday to get the latest information in the ongoing investigation into the mega corruption case.

The Joint Investigation Team (CITs) under the supervision of the Director General (Ditjen), NAB Lahore gave a briefing on all cases relating to money laundering and other important cases. The briefing was also attended by the Deputy Attorney General for Accountability (DPGA), Chaudhary Khaleeq-uz-Zaman and other Senior Bureau Officers. The Chairman of the NAB is very concerned about the facts submitted by the Investigation Team and issues appropriate guidance in this regard.

During his visit, Judge Javed Iqbal specifically reviewed the performance of the Lahore NAB Prosecution Wing and advised Wing that their efforts continue so that the References in the Mega Corruption Scandal could be pursued according to law and corrupt elements could be brought to justice. The Chairperson of NAB stated that the Bureau had more than 70% of the different Punishment Ratios which highlighted the Bureau’s Prosecution Team’s diligent efforts. He further stated that NAB believed in carrying out its constitutional duties in accordance with the law. NAV is the main and dignified institution that works to eradicate corruption from the State, whereas, each NAB initiative is based purely on merit and after the acquisition of strong evidence. Judge Javed Iqbal said that NAB’s actions against elements of corruption were admired by different prestigious organizations such as Transparency International Pakistan (TIP), World Economic Forum, Mishaal and PILDAT etc.

On that occasion, NAB Chief Justice Javed Iqbal issued instructions to bring all those being investigated in the Mega Corruption Scandal to logically end without causing a delay and to submit a reference based on evidence to the honorable Accountability Court.
