The head of NAB gave a briefing about the mega corruption case
LAHORE: Chair of the National Accountability Bureau, Judge (Ret) Javed Iqbal was briefed on cases relating to money laundering and other important cases during a visit to the regional bureau office here on Thursday.
According to the press release, the briefing was also attended by deputy prosecutors and other senior officials. During his visit, the head of the NAB specifically reviewed the performance of the Lahore NAB Prosecution Wing and advised him to continue efforts so that references in the big corruption scandal could be sought according to law and corrupt elements could be brought to justice.
The Chairman of the NAB stated that the bureau had a sentence rate of more than 70pc in different courts which highlighted the bureaucratic prosecution team’s diligent efforts. He stated that NAB believed in carrying out its constitutional duties in accordance with the law. NAB is the main and dignified institution that works to eradicate corruption from the state, while each initiative is based purely on merit and after the acquisition of strong evidence.
He said that NAB’s actions against corrupt elements were admired by various prestigious organizations. The NAB Chair also issued instructions to end all mega corruption scandals that are being investigated without causing delays and to submit evidence-based references in the accountability court.
