“Appropriate people from all four provinces, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will be entitled to the assistance. Quotas have been allocated according to population without considering the National Finance Commission for that matter, because AJK and GB are not included in NFC. For this reason, the 2017 census is being considered. The federal government will donate Rs 12 million in baskets, but the provinces can provide funds if they want to put more people from their province into the basket. Punjab and Sindh have agreed to pay an additional 700,000 and 250,000 people, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also inform [Centre] about it immediately, “he said.
Dr Nishtar said the wealth profile would also be included in the list as if the candidate had a vehicle, traveled abroad and what their utility bills were.
“People can send their CNIC number (computerized national identity card) at Ehsaas Emergency number 8171. Candidates have started sending SMS and a message is sent to them that they are eligible or they must contact their district administration. “Every time CNIC is sent, it reaches as many as seven databases when it is checked that if CNIC is correct, it also concerns the government employee database. Federal and provincial government employees are not entitled to cash assistance.
