The IHC summoned the health secretary, DC today in an insult petition submitted by PMDC registrants | Instant News

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday summoned the Secretary of Health, Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad and others to appear in court directly on Tuesday (today) in an insult petition filed by the registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Pakistan (PMDC).

The bench scorched the IHC consisting of Judge MohsinAkhtarKayani conducting a petition trial along with an application submitted by the National Health Service Department which claimed that the appointment of the registrant was illegal.

After the preliminary examination, the IHC bench directed the health of the secretary, joint secretary, section officer, deputy commissioner of Islamabad and Post Office Officer Ramna police station to appear before the court directly on Tuesday (today) and postpone the trial.

It was October 19, 2019 when President Dr. ArifAlvi issued a regulation that made PMDC dissolved and paved the way for the formation of PMC.

Subsequently, the National Health Service Department sealed the PMDC building and informed 220 of its employees that their services had been stopped. However, a single bench of the IHC declared the presidential regulation on February 11 as an ultra vires for the constitution and restoring PMDC and service to employees.

Instead of implementing a court decision, the ministry sealed the PMDC building again and stopped the council employees from entering the premises.

The government also appealed the decision in front of a division bench but failed to make the decision suspended or get a stay, while PMDC employees filed a disgusted petition.

Upon hearing an insulting petition, a bench consisting of Judge Mohsin Aktar Kayani on March 30, gave the government an hour to open the PMDC and warned that the officials concerned could be jailed.

Although the ministry issued a letter about the removal of the building, it did not allow PMDC registrants or employees for three days.

The ministry has now submitted a petition claiming that the appointment of the registrant is illegal, while the registrant has submitted an application stating that the government has not carried out a court order even after the decision on the application of insults.
