Islamabad: Meanwhile, despite a sharp increase in the number of corona virus cases in Pakistan, shops, restaurants and small markets remain open Monday in Karachi, Lahore and other major cities in the country that violate the lockdown. On Monday, Pakistan reported 3,530 confirmed coronavirus cases with Punjab recording more than 1,700 cases, around 1,000 Sindh, KP 405 and Balochistan 192. So far, 52 deaths have been reported across the country while 257 were found.

In the capital city of Sindh province, shops in Hussianabad, Ayesha Manzil, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaquatabad, Jalan Tariq, Saddar and other areas in Karachi serve customers with government direction.

Large numbers of families and the general public can be seen eating breakfast at roadside restaurants, sipping tea and enjoying food there.

In Lahore, too, the main markets in Gulberg, Anarkali and Fortress Stadium remain open and the government is turning a blind eye to them. In Rawalpindi, Multan, Sargodha, Peshawar and Sukkur too, reports of lock violations were received.
