Islamabad: The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China presented 20,000 masks to the Islamabad Police who stood in the front row in the fight against Coronavirus, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing praised the efforts of the Islamabad police at this critical time and said that the troops stood at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19. Such cooperation will also continue in the future, he added.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Police Inspector General Muhammad Aamir Zufliqar Khan thanked the Chinese Ambassador for his help in this challenging time and hoped that the pandemic would be overcome through Chinese assistance. He said that Pak-China friendship was higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the ocean, sweeter than honey and Pakistan would overcome Coronavirus through Chinese assistance.

The Islamabad Police Chief said that efforts were also being made to protect the health of the police so that they could fulfill their responsibilities effectively. He said that the Islamabad police stood with their citizens and the morale of the troops was very high. He also appreciated the performance of the Police Operations Division led by DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed during this difficult time.
