Prime Minister Imran Khan is “incapable and clueless,” and his government is worse than a dictatorship, leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 11 opposition parties, were accused at a second rally on Monday.
The PDM, which was formed on September 20, has launched a three-stage anti-government movement under an “action plan” to overthrow Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government.
It is planned that a number of rallies and demonstrations will be held, before the ‘fateful long march’ to Islamabad in January next year. The first demonstration was held on Friday in Gujranwala near Lahore.
“This incapable and clueless Prime Minister should go home,” said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Bagh-e-Jinnah, which was filled with people including supporters and workers from alliance members.
“History has proven that the greatest dictators cannot survive and what position does this puppet have?”, Said Zardari targeting Khan and adding that “this is not a new fight but it will be a decisive fight”.
The demonstration here also marks the 13th anniversary of the twin explosions in Karsaz that targeted former PM Benazir Bhutto’s homecoming procession in 2007. The explosion killed around 200 people and injured several others. Maryam Nawaz, daughter of exiled former PM Nawaz Sharif, attacked the PTI government for declaring the opposition leader and her father “traitors”.
