on Thursday conducted a successful test flight of the Shaheen-1A surface-to-surface ballistic missile.

“The flight test was aimed at re-validating the design and certain technical parameters of the weapon system,” the military said in a statement.

However, the army did not share technical details of the missile.

The flight test was witnessed by Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, Director General of Strategic Plan Division; Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Commander of the Army Strategic Forces Command and scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

Congratulating scientists and engineers on a successful test flight, Manj appreciates their technical prowess, dedication and commitment, the statement said.

President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and senior military leaders also congratulated scientists and engineers on this achievement.

In March, the armed forces conducted a test launch of the nuclear-capable Shaheen 1-A medium-range ballistic missile. It has a range of 900 kilometers.
