New Delhi (Sputnik): Pakistan began evacuating its citizens from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday, April 18 after Gulf states threatened to review working relationships with countries that refused to take back their citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic,

Pakistanis stranded in Dubai have been slammed Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government not to make arrangements to bring them back.

The stranded workers described it as a shame on the part of the Pakistani government for not bringing back its citizens despite charging them a large ticket.

A video of a Pakistani citizen asking Prime Minister Khan to think about them has spread on social media.

In the video, people can be seen complaining to Pakistani Embassy in Dubai to sell tickets at a high price of 2000 UAE Dirham ($ 535). The video also shows those who claim that they chose Imran Khan and during this difficult time he did not come forward to help them.

Last week, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that over the next two weeks would repatriate its displaced citizens. According to the Pakistani government, 227 residents were flown home on Saturday.
