PM Imran Khan starts Ehtesab from himself, his team: Firdous Ashiq Cloud
ISLAMABAD: PM’s Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said Prime Minister Imran Khan had started accountability (Ehtesab) from him and his team.
He said that the PM’s decision regarding the cabinet reflected his determination to clean up the corrupt virus system once and for all. In his video message, after the cabinet reshuffle and the removal of several key members of his team, Dr Firdous said that the masses had given Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf a mandate to eradicate the corruption virus, which had made five state entities. percent of the ruling elite, usurping legal and constitutional rights from 95 percent of Pakistan’s population.
“These decisions also reflect his intelligent thinking to care for the rights of the masses and not some individuals. And, there are no priorities in Pakistan’s 70 years on self-accountability and that also reflects that its focus and policy center is the masses; to facilitate and solve their problems and problems, “he said.
He said that no group or individual, in accordance with the prime minister’s vision, could be allowed to take undue advantage of certain situations. “There is no room for such selfish policies in Naya Pakistan with new thinking. Unlike the past, anyone who comes between the masses and their interests will be assigned. The message is loud and clear that there are no sacred cows. It is time to translate the slogan given by the prime minister “not two, one Pakistani” into reality, “he maintained.
Dr Firdous believes that the benchmark is now performance and will be given preference over other considerations. He added that like a messiah, the Prime Minister would not tolerate obstacles in the way of mass realization of basic legal and constitutional rights.
Keeping that approach in mind, he pointed out while the Prime Minister had set a target for the commission to complete its findings on April 25 by considering a clear SOP and TOR, a replacement system other than the Sugar Mills Association, based on the latest technology that would be put in place to incorporate every aspect involved, including the interests of sugar farmers, sugar cane production and sugar production other than taxes.
The new system, he explained, would be very easy with a focus on protecting the interests of 220 million people as well. He regretted that the Pakistan Competition Commission unfortunately became an instrument in the hands of personal interests; stakeholders play with public rights instead of preventing landfill and cartelization.
He continued when the Prime Minister initiated reform and accountability, the chairman was appointed from the court and that opened the eyes of the government, because those who were supposed to protect the rights of the masses became instruments in the hands of several individuals. He added that the Pakistan Competition Commission will be restructured and equipped with the latest technology in addition to developing new mechanisms.
Dr Firdous came strongly to the opposition for their efforts to charge the prime minister and his cabinet members, who had begun a process of self-accountability, never before done in the country, staying focused on their goals and not on political interests and making difficult decisions.
He deplored that the opposition was trying to snatch the prime minister’s credit just to keep them alive politically, asking opposition leaders, holding news conferences, to give credit to the prime minister instead, who made bold decisions in the light of the investigation report. “It’s time to act, forge unity to defeat the coronavirus pandemic. The opposition must provide guidance to the government in this connection, “he said.
The prime minister, he said, is trying to get people out of trouble and especially he is busy protecting 220 million people from the virus and its effects and providing a way forward and a comprehensive strategy, taking the province together and holding daily meetings to ensure its implementation.
He said the prime minister would provide a replacement policy to save people from being abused by personal interests after receiving the final report, as bringing facilitation to people’s lives and ensuring the provision of their rights, was his top priority.
