KARACHI – Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that economic revival is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s top priority and he holds regular weekly meetings with all shareholders in various sectors on this matter. He said this when speaking with a delegation of the All Pakistan Timber Traders Association (APTTA) led by its chairman Sharjeel Goplani at the Governor’s Building on Friday. Delegation members thanked the governor of Sindh for his efforts to declare the 4407 Pakistan Customs Tariff as raw material and said that in this fiscal year’s budget the series 4401 to 4406 were included in the category of raw materials but 4407 was missed. They said SRO 1240 had been issued on Friday to include 4407 PTCs in the raw material category, due to Governor Sindh’s tireless efforts. The governor of Sindh said that as a representative of the federal government he was always willing to act as a mediator between the federal government and the business community. “I firmly believe that the business world is the most important component for the country’s economic growth,” he added. He said that the use of wood in various forms is an important element in the construction of a house and the government is determined to solve the problems facing this sector. He said, after the corona virus, the lockdown construction industry was the first sector to receive a package. Other delegation members included Mushtaq Wali Muhammad, Sabir Bangash and Qutb Jodiawala.
