The concert organized by Salt Arts featuring singer Shamoon Ismail at the Avari Towers Hotel in Karachi was halted on Saturday night.
A police team led by Assistant Commissioner Saddar Sherina Asad arrived at the hotel and stopped the concert halfway. A fine of Rs100,000 was imposed on the organizers as well.
“Please follow all SOPs,” said Asad. “Concerts can wait. Recreational activities can wait. Stay home, stay safe. ”
The event was held by the pool. In a post on social media, Salt Arts assured that SOPs were being followed and said wearing face masks was mandatory.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of South Korea Irshad Sodhar, this action was taken after they received a complaint that the Corona virus SOP was not followed up at the concert.
“We will not tolerate violations of the preventive measures imposed by the government,” he added.
